A Born and raised Chicagoan, Les moved to Florida to become a session recording drummer and percussionist from 1976 through 1984. Currently perform occasionally with an acoustic trio “Side Effects” and perform drumming duties on a regular basis as part of the back bone and rhythm section to “Six Miles To Nellie.” Happily married and a proud father of two grown boys who live too far away. Les's hobbies are fly fishing, bow hunting, a goal tender on a men’s hockey league and grounds keeper for my beloved woodlands.
Previously a member of: The Ross Emery Band, where he co-wrote and recorded “The Jogger” and “Lonely Too Long” albums 1976 and 1977, toured extensively from 1976 to 1981. Also as a member of “Not Quite Right”, an acoustic trio singing lead and playing guitar, mandolin and percussion from 1985 to 2010 before moving to central Ohio.
Musical accomplishments as a lad: Percussionist in the Chicago Junior Symphony, nominated to McDonald’s All Star Marching Band at 17 to march in the Rose Bowl parade but decided to stay home and play in “Sigmund’s Dilemma” at Mother’s on Rush St. that weekend.
Offered a scholarship to Chicago Conservatory of Music to finish out a college degree in music but left home to write music for radio and television commercials in Ft. Lauderdale Florida…..what would you do?
